Clinics (K/P Soccer, K/P Hockey, 1st Grade Basketball)
Our clinic divisions are more focused on teaching the boys skills and the proper fundamentals for the sport. Led by our incredible volunteer father coaches and expert staff, each week the boys will spend about 20 minutes doing drills, etc to hone their skills and learn the fundamentals of the sport. This will be followed by a fun scrimmage game. In the final 2 weeks of the season, there will be an exciting tournament!
Leagues (1st-8th Hockey, 2nd-7th Basketball)
Our hockey and basketball leagues are very fun and competitive! Using player ratings from previous seasons (provided by the coaches at the end of the season) and holding player evaluations in the 1st week of the season, our teams are usually very balanced and fair! Each team will have a volunteer head coach (& possibly an assistant coach) and all games will be officiated by 2 referees! There will be 6 to 8 regular season games (depending on the # of teams) followed by 2 or 3 playoff rounds.
Practice
For our basketball and hockey (2nd-8th) leagues, we can schedule team practices throughout the season!
Coaching
Volunteer to coach your son's team! On the registration form, you are able to apply to coach (or assistant coach) your son's team. We very much appreciate our volunteer coaches and we have special perks for them!
Added Perks (Swag and Special Events)
There are alot of awesome added perks when you register your son for the JSL! We partner with local businesses to give your son amazing swag items like water bottles, drawstring bags, sweaters, & more! (swag items vary by season). The JSL also partners with local professional sports teams to offer you special incredible events like going to an Islanders and Rangers game at a discounted price and going on the ice afterwards! The JSL is also a JR. Knicks affiliate which allows us to host special basketball clinics with Knicks staff (and a surprise Knicks player!) and have some JSL boys play at Halftime during a game at MSG!
Equipment
Hockey: Your son will need a helmet (with a cage), gloves, & a stick. You can buy all this at a discounted price (click HERE for offer) at PlayitAgain Sports in Oceanside (46 Atlantic Ave, Oceanside, NY). They also help you find the correct size equipment for your son. If your son is playing goalie, we have all the necessary goalie equipment (besides a cup) but you are welcome to get your own as well. [Click HERE to see the league's goalie equipment]
Other sports: Your son will need to be wearing a head covering (kippa, hat, etc) and sneakers while playing in this leagueCommunication

JSL, renowned for its premier hockey, basketball, soccer, and indoor football leagues during the Fall and Winter seasons, has been a cornerstone of local sports engagement. Complementing this, 5 Towns Little League (5TLL) contributes to the sporting landscape by offering Little League baseball and soccer in the Spring.
The Maidenbaum JSL Scholarship Fund represents a beacon of opportunity, providing financial aid to nearly 100 boys for each season of JSL and 5TLL.
This support is mainly directed towards candidates from single-parent homes or families facing financial hardships, broadening access to these invaluable sports experiences.
Local organizations such as Achiezer, Bright Futures, and the JCCRP are crucial in nominating scholarship participants, ensuring a fair and comprehensive selection process. Additionally, local yeshivas and Rabbanim actively contribute to the nomination process, enriching the diversity of candidates.
As the next little league season approaches in March, the Maidenbaum JSL Scholarship Fund has already facilitated full scholarships for over 75 boys. This tangible impact underscores the transformative potential of strategic partnerships between businesses and local sports organizations.
